New Moon In Libra, followed by Mercury Retrograde!

So, the moon, like a deflating balloon, is getting smaller and smaller in the night sky, and as it does, there is a feeling of our own energy draining away.   It is important to get enough rest during the two weeks following a Full Moon, especially in the last days before the New Moon.  If you have been feeling drained in the past two weeks, chalk it up to the Old Moon, or Waning Moon.

The New Moon (when the Moon joins the Sun in the same sign) will be taking place early on the morning of Thursday, October 11th.  This coming New Moon will bring the Sun and Moon together in the sign of Libra, so the next two weeks (expanding up to the next full moon) will be focusing on partnerships and relationships.  Libra is the Sign of Partnership.  It is also the sign which says "I Balance," so this is a time for finding the balance between work and play, being together and being alone, being in the city versus going for a drive in the country, surrounded by the beauty of nature.   Libra is the sign of beauty and harmony, and Fall expresses Nature's beauty in all her glory!

Right after the New Moon, we will have the unique experience which takes place 3x a year - Mercury Retrograde!  The planets all transit around the Sun like chariots on a race track, and when Earth is going past any planet, it appears from our perspective that the planet is travelling backwards (or in retrograde motion).  Since Mercury is associated with all things related to communication and the mind, this is an often humorous and sometimes challenging time to observe the breakdowns that take place with cell phones, computers, internet, television, etc, as well as travelling by car.  Most people tend to "travel backwards" in their minds during this time, so traffic jams and accidents take place more frequently.  I usually stay off the main roads, taking the "road less travelled" during Mercury Retrograde.

Mercury Retrogrades last for 3 weeks, (this one ends on November 1st) and take place 3 times a year, so I believe it is God's way of saying, "Slow Down; Stop and Enjoy the Beauty of Nature; Stop pushing so hard to get somewhere all the time - Try BEING for a change."  Mercury Retrograde is a time to re-think, re-view, re-evaluate, re-new, re-fresh, re-connect with Spirit, and re-juvenate our lives.  Mercury is also connected with friendships, so it is often a time when we hear from people we have not spoken to in a while.

So, enjoy the New Moon, go for a walk in nature, and pay attention to the moment as the mind is directed within for the next three weeks!

More will be revealed!

Love,

Christina
