Sun Entering Scorpio and the Full Moon in Taurus!

Two major astrological events took place this past week -- the Sun went into Scorpio on Tuesday, Oct 23rd, and the Full Moon occurred in Taurus at 12 am Friday, Oct 26th.

Scorpio is the sign of Death, but it is also the sign of Regeneration.  It is the only astrological sign that has 4 symbols.  It is symbolized by the Scorpion, which would rather sting itself to death, than not sting at all.  It is symbolized by the Snake, that transmutates, and sheds it's skin like a Shape Shifter.  It is symbolized by the Eagle, which perceives with utter clarity the deeper mysteries of life.  It is also symbolized by the Phoenix, a Fire Bird which dies, only to rise again out of it's own ashes.  If you don't know what a Phoenix looks like, rent the movie "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and you will see a great description of a Phoenix experience.

Did you ever wonder why Halloween takes place with all its Witches, Ghouls, Ghosts, Goblins, and Skeletons at this time of year? The Sun (Inner Spirit) is expressing itself in the sign of SCORPIO!  And this Halloween ought to be pretty wild with Mercury Retrograde!  I'll bet there will be some pretty bizarre costumes out there.

The sign of Scorpio also relates to other people's money - banks, mortgages, wall street.  So, this will be a good time for investment.

And again we come around full circle to another Full Moon (check out my first blog of a month ago, when the Full Moon was in Aries!).

A Full moon takes place when the Sun is in the opposite sign from the Moon.  The Sun is currently in Scorpio and at Midnight on Thursday, early morning on Friday, the Moon will be exactly opposite the Sun in the opposite sign of Taurus.  Since Full Moons are a time of completion, this will be a time to contemplate the issues that each sign relates to.

Scorpio's statement is "I DESIRE" and the opposite sign, Taurus' statement is "I HAVE", so this Full Moon will be the experience of "what do I have versus what do I desire?"  Buddha was born in the sign of Taurus, and one of his greatest teachings was, "Attachment is the root of all suffering."  Isn't that a paradox - for a Taurus to teach us not to get attached?  However, it does not mean that having things causes suffering, but it is the ATTACHMENT to those things - people, places and possessions.

We have to overcome attachment in order to cultivate contentment.   Be happy with what you have.  Make a gratitude list of all your assets - God, home, health, friends, family, your cat...

This is the time of year when death is all around us -- in the falling leaves and dead flowers.  It is only going away for a little while - it will be reborn again like the Phoenix when the Sun goes into the opposite sign of Taurus in Spring.  So, take time to go inside, and take a walk outside, and feel the beauty within this cycle of death and rebirth.

Have fun and play in the leaves!

More will be revealed.

Love,

Christina
