So, here we are again at an ending, with a Full Moon in
late degrees of Gemini, and a Total Lunar Eclipse taking place
on December 21, 2010 at 3:17 AM EST.
It should be visible to all of the Northern Hemisphere.

And -- this ending will be immediately followed by a new beginning, the Winter Solstice,
on Dec 21st, 2010 at 5:38 PM EST,
which is when the Sun goes into the sign of Capricorn.

Winter Solstice is when the Sun is at 00 Degrees of Capricorn,
and it is technically the beginning of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

This is the day that the ancients called "Solstice" -- which means the Sun stands still. 
It is the shortest day and longest night of the year.

And as the ancients watched the shadows growing longer from that
day forward, they believed the Light was returning to the Earth.

One of the most powerful places on Earth where you can
witness the Light coming into a cave ONLY on the Winter Solstice,
is in Newgrange, Ireland.

Also, each year, Jazz Musician Paul WInter puts on
an amazing Winter Solstice Concert at St John The Divine
Cathedral in New York City.

One of my favorite parts is the "Howl-elluia Chorus" --
where everyone howls like a wolf,
and the sounds reverberate off the walls of this
huge cathedral.

All kinds of celebrations in many cultures 
mark this as a time of renewal and rebirth, and the early Christians
chose this time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, "The Light of the World".

This Full Moon will take place when the Sun
is in late degrees of Sagittarius, and will be exactly
opposite the Moon in Gemini.



Gemini - The Sign of The Twins

Gemini is a Masculine, Positive, Mutable, Air Sign, whose statement is "I Think."

Gemini relates to all forms of communication, writing, and speaking, and learning. 

In the Body, it is connected to the eyes, the ears, the hands and the lungs.
This will be a great time to re-connect with old friends as well as siblings.

Since Gemini is ruled by Mercury, and since Mercury is still RETROGRADE
right now, (See my previous Blog for more on Mercury Retrograde)
we are also more likely to have confusion, space out, drop things,
and have to re-do things during this Full Moon.

A Total Lunar Eclipse takes place when the 
Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon,
causing a shadow over the moon, and turning the moon
the color of blood red. 

The Ancient people must have totally freaked out seeing this!

Even now, I still get a little anxious watching the last sliver of moonlight get
snuffed out during a Total Lunar Eclipse.

The Moon is connected to the tides of the Oceans on Earth,
and it also relates to our emotional nature.

Mercury relates to the Mind, and our ability
to perceive the Truth.

So, with the effects of the Moon being blotted out by the Lunar Eclipse,
and the mind being jumbled up with Mercury going backwards,
it might feel as though we have temporarily lost our Inner GPS Guidance system.

Without the Moon to guide our emotions, and Mercury to keep the mind clear,
there will be more tendencies towards fear, depression, confusion, and
losing oneself in overindulgence, food and imbibing spirits (alcohol and drugs.)

And, since this is the darkest time of the year, it can be challenging to find the Light.

So, listening to positive, uplifting music is great for the soul.

I also recommend that you keep your home fires burning,
burn Candles and Incense (especially Nag Champa and Frankincense)
and keep your Christmas lights turned on!

Many are saying that this Lunar Eclipse,
being at the last degrees of Sagittarius and Gemini,
will also will be lining up with our Galactic Center,
and that this represents a very significant turning point for Humanity.

Therefore, I recommend a new book to help you deal with these shifts
by Starr Fuentes, called "Light Language."

And, of course, the best way to deal with this Darkness
is to "seek the Light within".

Go within and find that core of Light within yourself,
and dwell in the peace and silence of the Inner Self.
