Ok - so this week, we are going to have another "HOT" Full Moon -
Hot on the Insides, that is --
even though the weather is getting chilly outside --
this Full Moon takes place on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10:06 PM EST.
 
And as we say each month, Full Moons occur when
the Sun and the Moon are in opposite signs.
So, right now, the Sun is in the sign of Libra (The Sign of Relationships),
and the Full Moon will be in the sign of Aries, (The Sign of Self Expression).

So the skies truly become a battle ground --
or a see-saw, between the "I AM" consciousness and "We Are" consciousness.



        Aries - The Ram

Both of these signs are Cardinal, Yang, Positive Outgoing Energy,
even though Aries is ruled by Mars,the God of War,
and Libra is ruled by Venus, the Goddess of Love.

Aries is Cardinal Fire - Libra is Cardinal Air.
So, they both like to start something new and come up with new ideas!



         Libra - The Balance

Also, Uranus (the planet of change and rebellion)
is in Aries right now, and perhaps it is stirring up the excitement and movement of
unexpected rebellions, like the "Occupy Wall Street" Movement
going on in New York City these past weeks.

And with the Sun, Saturn, and Mercury all sitting in Libra, the sign of others,
there is definitely a kind of "me versus them" attitude in the air.




                                     ARIES


This is a time of year for clarity in our relationships.

With Saturn in Libra, Saturn likes things to be serious, realistic, and committed. 
(So, flings and affairs are not in the stars right now!)

This Full Moon in Aries is also the 29th Lunar Anniversary of the Mahasamadhi
of my beloved teacher, Baba Muktananda. 

Baba was a great Siddha Guru whose main teachings were
"See God In Each Other" and "God Dwells Within You As You." 

How perfect that he chose the Aries Full Moon to take
Mahasamadhi (which is to consciously leave his body during the "I AM" Full Moon!)

Also, relating to this "I AM" Consciousness, or the Higher Self, one of my favorite stories
is from the Bhagavad Gita, where Krishna (God)
describes the nature of The Self.

Krishna had incarnated as a man and was playing the role of a charioteer to Arjuna, a mighty warrior.

So, there they were, just sitting in the middle of a battlefield (think Gettysburg to the max!)
and all of a sudden, Arjuna, this brave warrior, becomes terrified and too afraid to fight his enemies,
because he can see their faces, and knows that they are his relatives and his teachers!

Krishna tells Arjuna to relax, and that that the Self (atman) of all beings, including the other warriors
on the battlefield, is indestructible.

My favorite quote is:

"Fire cannot burn it, water cannot wet it, and wind cannot dry it.
It is this Self that passes from body to another body
like a person taking worn out clothing and putting on new ones."

So, again, this Full Moon in Aries basically says,

Be the Perfect Self that you ARE,
beyond identity with
"I am a man, or I am a woman,
I am old, I am young. I am rich, I am poor."
Leave all these labels behind and just BE.
