It's In The Stars

Happy Easter! Happy Spring! Happy Sun In Aries - The Birth of the Great "I AM"!

Every year, the Sun travels around the entire Zodiac, bringing us the Change of Seasons.

When the Sun returns to the beginning of the Natural Zodiac, it enters Sign of Aries!

When the Sun enters Aries, it begins the cycle of life all over again, which we call the Vernal Equinox,
or the Birth of Spring.

I think the First Day of Spring should truly be our REAL NEW YEAR.  It FEELS like New Life is bursting forth everywhere!

Even the Symbol for Aries looks like a Fire Cracker!

Now - If you look at a Natural Zodiac as a Huge Cosmic Clock, Aries represents the Sunrise -

that first spark of life.

Aries statement is "I AM".   Some people think this refers to the EGO (little "i") -

But it actually relates to the Great "I AM"!

Look at this little Ram Jumping for Joy!

Now, isn't it wonderful that the early Christians chose this time of the year to celebrate Easter?

It looks like Jesus is coming out of the Tomb, saying "Here I AM!"

The Re-Birthing of Life in Spring is a perfect time for the Story of the Resurrection.

And since Aries statement is "I AM" -

it is also the perfect time to celebrate the One who gave us the

greatest expression of the "I AM" consciousness -- Jesus Christ.

We have always heard these words that Jesus said, "I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life."

Jesus was GOD - so, why would he need to refer to his small human identity, as the "i am"?

Many people are coming to realize a different meaning to his words through Meditation --

Perhaps Jesus actually came to teach us that we are all the Universal, Limitless, Eternal "I AM" Principal -

It is sometimes called "Christ Consciousness" -

that place of existence where we are all ONE with God, with our Source.

This same Universal, Limitless, Eternal "I AM" exists within all beings, at all times,

is always alive and never dies!  YAHOO!

Can't you just imagine yourself bursting out of your own Tomb of Fear and Death into a Ball of Light?

YEEHAA!

Jesus came to Model the Truth of who we are - by demonstrating His own Mastery over Matter, over the Elements, over Dis-Ease, and finally over Death itself!

Jesus showed us that we are not born to be limited by this Ego, this Body, this Mind, or anything else that the Earth Plane limits us by.

We are here to experience Eternal Life, the "I AM."  Thank You, God!

Of course, the Easter Bunny with all his colorful Easter Eggs fits nicely into the Re-birthing Story, too!

So, now we see the cycle of life continue,

with the new budding flowers and birds signifying Spring, the end of the dead Winter.

By following the rhythms and cycles of Nature, we can truly feel Blessed by ALL these experiences --

Death and Re-birth, Loss and Gain, Breaking Down and Re-building --

the Ebb and Flow of the tides, the Rise and Fall of the Moon.

This Spring Equinox, March 20, 2008, when the Sun goes into the Sign of Aries,

will be followed the next day -- Good Friday! --

by the Full Moon, which is always in the Opposite Sign, so this time it will be a Full Moon in Libra.

This Full Moon will be a time to consider the Axis between the "I Am" consciousness - who I truly AM -
and who "We Are"- the collective consciousness.

And for those of you who missed the last Full Moon, which was also a Lunar Eclipse, last month -
check out this time lapse photo!

Isn't that Gorgeous?!!

I have been listening to the Oprah / Eckhart Tolle Webcasts on "A New Earth" --

They seem to be blasting through all our collective concepts, egos, and ideas of who we think we are.

This is a significant time for letting go of the old Ego-centered "i am" (the little i)

and spend more time breathing in and out in the peace and serenity of the BIG "I AM" -

that place in us that never dies...

You can check out the previous Webcasts on their free podcasts on www.oprah.com - they are fantastic!

Even if you are not able to participate live, you may be able to pick up on the "downloads" in meditation!

These webcasts are definitely affecting the planetary consciousness.

So, Enjoy the Spring! -

And Please Let me Know if you know anyone looking to buy a house and Labyrinth!

New Moon in Pisces - The Great "AAAAAAhhhhh"

On Friday, March 7th, the Sun and Moon came together, after 2 weeks apart, to create a New Moon in the beautiful water sign of Pisces.

Pisces is represented by two fish going in opposite directions.  One is swimming upstream, one is swimming downstream.

This is the symbol for Pisces.  It looks like two mirrors held together by string.  Like we are being split in two perhaps?

I hear a great "AAAAAAhhhh" in the Universe, like we are all taking a collective deep breath, and releasing it like a huge sigh.

This could be a sigh of relief,

or a it could be a sigh of fear - "AAGGGGHHH! - I can't take it anymore!"

Take a deep breath and let it out.... Let Go and Let God!

I have been attending Weekend Retreats with Edwene Gaines, a wonderful teacher and Prosperity Master, who lives in Valley Head, Alabama -- about 3 hours south of Nashville, TN - right near the Georgia border.

Her Rock Ridge Retreat site is truly Heaven on Earth.  This land has been used for sacred ceremonies from the times of the Native Americans to the present.

It is a large farm with woods, fields and a beautiful labyrinth!

Here is the Wooded Path leading down to the Labyrinth near the Retreat Lodge

Here is the 7 Circuit Classic Labyrinth  (View from the Center of the Labyrinth)

Here is the Lower Pasture of Rock Ridge Retreat (below the Labyrinth)

This is also near Little River Canyon, the highest elevated River in the United States.

It is also near Desoto State Park, which has a lodge where you can stay for $60 a night.

Last weekend's retreat was called "Working with Higher Dimensions"

The next one, April 3-6, will be a workshop called "Building the Millionaire Mind"

All these weekend retreats are only $95 for 3 days - and they include a Fire Walk --
This is an incredibly transformative experience, whether you choose to walk on the coals or not!

For More Retreat Info, please call Melanie or Kelly at Rock Ridge Retreat - Phone # 256-635-1377.

OTHER EVENTS LAST WEEK:

Oprah held the first Webcast with Eckhart Tolle called "A NEW EARTH"  -- it was heard by thousands of people all over the world -

I believe this opened a big portal in the ethers and there was a shift in consciousness on many levels.

***If you missed it, you can still listen to the archives for free at www.oprah.com -
and you can also tune in the next few weeks, every Monday at 8 pm CST.

What I heard:

"Keep breathing!  (YES)

BE in nature to calm your mind.  (AHHH...)

Get in touch with the SILENCE -- BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD."

ANOTHER EVENT that took place last week was the
celebration of MAHASHIVARATRI, a sacred time honoring SHIVA in the Hindu Tradition.

I have been using the OM NAMAH SHIVAYA mantra for many years.

OM NA-MAH SHI-VA-YA - is Sanskrit for "I Honor The Divinity Within All"

It is called the great 5 syllable mantra - OM plus NA MA SHI VA YA

Here is what Om Namah Shivaya looks like in Sanskrit :

This Mantra is amazing - It encompasses all the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space (Ethers).

OM    = The Universal Sound which all sounds emanate from.

NA     = Earth

MAH   = Water

SHI    = Fire

VA      = Air

YA      = Space - the Ethers

This Mantra truly helps still the Mind.

And, with the Sun, Moon and Mercury and Venus soon coming into Pisces - the Final and 12th house of the Natural Zodiac - the House of Pisces - this is a great time for meditation!

Pisces Statement is "I BELIEVE."  So, What do you Believe in?

The Sign of Pisces relates to Oceans, whether they be the Oceans of the Earth, or the Ocean of Consciousness, or GOD.  So, this is a great time to connect with the GOD of your understanding.

The next two weeks will be great for MEDITATION and doing VISION WORK.

Try to get near some bodies of water!  Here is another one of my Favorite places :

Center Hill Lake, in Tennessee.

Being in Nature helps you to connect deeply with your Inner Self.

Pisces is connected with the subconscious mind, Dream World, Visions, Intuition, and Spiritual Communities such as Monasteries and Ashrams.

Pisces also has to do with imagination.  Pisces is the12th House in Astrology - related to our Deepest Fears, Addictions, Illusions and Deceptions of Human Consciousness.

Pisces and the 12th House also reveals the Cures for these Dis-Eases - 12-Step programs, Therapy and Treatment Centers.

If you cannot get to a waterfall, a lake, or the ocean, then take a hot bath, drink hot tea, and lose yourself in a good movie.  Pisces also relates to losing one's EGO self.   Clear out some clutter and do some Spring Cleaning!

Do rituals that bring you joy - Chant, Burn Incense, Meditate.

Feel free to walk my labyrinth virtually on my website below - and BE at peace.

YAHOO! Mercury Went Direct - (Followed By Full Moon Eclipse in Virgo - The "Serve or Suffer Axis!")

Well, are you smiling?  Has your mind gotten clearer this week?  Notice how things are moving a little smoother, a little faster -- a little sharper focus coming into view?

Well, Yes, ladies and gents, Mercury is back on track, and moving forward!

Of course, you know that Mercury never REALLY goes backwards during his retrograde,

but from Earth's point of view, which means us Human Beings,

he really does appear to be going backwards, then stands still, and goes forward again.

Here is the Happy Messenger of the Gods running on his merry way!  Sexy, isn't he?

Now, even though things SEEM to be picking up after Mercury "changed course" on Monday, February 18th,

Just when we were getting comfortable, WHAM!

The Full Moon took place on Wednesday night, February 20th.

Don't you wish the planets would just leave us alone?  Maybe give us a little vacation down here?

NAAAAHHH..  It Ain't gonna happen!

AND, since THIS Full Moon also included a very powerful TOTAL ECLIPSE, it was an awesome sight to watch.

(I was blessed to watch it on a very crystal clear sky night in Nashville, TN.)

The Moon was in the sign of Virgo, and Saturn is also in Virgo, so it was a spectacular sight to see the two of them dancing together in the sky.

For those who missed it --

The Moon started to disappear, and when the Eclipse was Complete, the moon turned BLOOD RED.

It stayed like that for an hour - and then the light slowly, slowly started to come back.

I actually broke down and cried when it disappeared, like some primal fear was awakened.

"What if she doesn't come back?"  I worried.  Even though my Modern Mind told me she would.

I felt what the ancient cultures must have felt - like we lost our "Mother" temporarily.

The Moon rules the tides of the earth, the fluids of our body, nurturing, the breasts, the stomach, and our emotional natures, so it felt like for that one hour when she was gone, our emotions were in the dark as well.

To add to this, The FULL MOON was in the Sign of Virgo!  The Sun had just gone into the sign of Pisces, so a Full Moon is when the Moon is in the opposite sign from the Sun!

Virgo is also seen as the Sign of The Mother.  The Harvest or Earth Mother.   The Dry, Desert Mother.  Not like the Watery Cancer - Home Nurturer Mother.

Sometimes, Virgo can be very demure and self-conscious.

Virgo people are born late August - through mid-September - Autumn - Apple Picking time.

Virgo really likes order and cleanliness, and is very attentive to details of life.  She can be meticulous and neat, but can also be very critical.

Virgo cares about the underdog and small pets.

She is also the sign related to all kinds of Service - which sometimes manifests in the professions of Nursing, and Office Work.  She really prefers behind the scenes work, rather than being on stage, like Leo! (who was last month's Full Moon - GRRR or PURR - Remember?)

So, did you remember Saturn is in Virgo for 2 years?  See my January Blogs!

Yes, Saturn will be in Virgo for 2 years.

And Saturn has to do with restriction, limitation, facing reality, growing up - but I also consider it the planet of Wisdom.

So, seeing Saturn next to the Full Moon made it feel even more like my Emotions were being crushed.

Of course, even though Virgo can be shy, she can also be sexy.

Since Virgo is the sign of Health and Service, I hear Saturn saying,

"Take care of your health - Find some way in which you can serve and offer yourself to the world in this life."

One of the ways I like to serve is give people access to a very orderly meditation tool, called a Labyrinth.

I just added another photo montage of the Labyrinth in Burns, TN - this is the Labyrinth which inspired and helped design the labyrinth on my property.

Since I am selling my home in Donelson (along with my Labyrinth), it's nice to be able to move to another Labyrinth, and call that "home" for a year, while I travel around giving talks, workshops, and private readings.  If you have not seen a labyrinth, please check out this link to the Photo Montage I put together for the labryinth in Burns, TN.

And if you have not seen MY labyrinth yet,  please visit my website.

Take the next two weeks easy - go slowly, (Saturn) and do not choose to suffer in this illusion of the world any longer!

Do You Like To Dance? 2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back!

So, on an on we go - dancing to the music of the spheres - the heavenly bodies we call the planets and the stars.

Sometimes this dance feels a little like the Caucus Race in Alice in Wonderland!

...hmmm -- I wonder if that's where we got the idea of Presidential Caucuses from?

Or maybe this Universal Dance feels like the Lobster Quadrille from the same book by Lewis Carroll -

"Will You, Won't You, Will You, Won't You, Will You Join the Dance?
Will You, Won't You, Will You, Won't You, Won't You Join the Dance?"

So -- is your world spinning around - feeling slightly off balance?  Does it feel like it may be going A little BACKWARDS?

Welcome to the very first Mercury Retrograde of the Year 2008!  This is what the glyph looks like -

Wouldn't you say he looks like a guy with horns on his head? --
(Who maybe needs to take an aspirin for all the huges headaches he creates?)  HA!

Well, I believe Mercury Retrograde is God's way of slowing us down.  We are always in such a hurry,
pushing forward and moving to get ahead -- we need time to Re-view life, Re-flect on the Beauty around us, Re-connect with old friends,  Re-charge our batteries, Re-Treat into Nature, Re-invent our selves, etc.

And -- instead of reaching for the MEDICATION, why not try a little MEDITATION instead?

OMMMMMMMMMMMMM............

Mercury is sometimes called the Trickster, because it is associated with the Mind, which constantly changes,
like the Element of Mercury (Quicksilver).

I like to think of Mercury as a Court Jester.

Sometimes we get so depressed, and it is because of our perceptions, or our expectations of the way we"Think" the world should be!

Our imagination can lead us into the pits of Despair, or it can also give us the ability to laugh at ourselves.

Yes, this Mercury Mind is really amazing - we can create entire worlds of Sorrow or Delight!

Just Remember - "A grateful heart cannot be broken!"

Keeping an attitude of gratitude no matter what will help alot.   Your life will feel more abundant.

Keep repeating this affirmation - "There is no lack anywhere  - the Universe is Filled with Abundance!"

Since the last posting on the Full Moon - 2 weeks have passed!

I actually took my own advice (for once!) - I slowed down and rested, and re-treated to the Mountains.

So much has happened Astrologically -- I can only sum it up with the above phrase --
"Two Steps Forward (Mars went Direct and New Moon took place) and One Step Back (Mercury went Retrograde!)"

Mercury went Retrograde on Monday, January 28th, (ends on Monday, February 18th)

This was followed by Mars going Direct on Wednesday, January 30th.

Then there was the increased energy of the New Moon in Aquarius, (when the Sun and Moon come together in the same sign) which actually became a solar eclipse, and took place on Wednesday, February 6th.   So, there were two bursts of energy going forward and one going backward.  Interesting twist, eh?

And Then! We had the Chinese New Year on Thursday, February 7th!  Happy Year of the Brown Earth Rat!

Rats are very intelligent, determined and resourceful - think of Templeton in the book, "Charlotte's Web!"

Mars is a planet that is somewhat related to rats - Mars is the planet related to our physical drive, ambition and desire, and it has been Retrograde since November - (did you feel sluggish during the Holidays?  Frustrated?  Couldn't Move?  Did you have a hard time expressing yourself?)

Well, now your energy should increase, but unfortunately, the Mercury mind is still spinning around backwards, obsessed with what to do!   Patience - patience - patience!

And, since Aquarius has to do with New Ideas, Brilliance, Inspiration, Electricity,
it feels like we're being plugged into a cosmic wall socket - like getting Huge downloads of information from above!

Aquarius is the one who pours knowledge into the ethers.

On February 6th, the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Neptune, Chiron, and North Node were ALL in Aquarius - YIKES!

And, with Mercury Retrograde in the Sign of Aquarius, you may feel like you have been plugged into a Cosmic Computer Game!

Speaking of which, are you having Computer Problems?  Last week, the entire building where I work
went through an electrical blackout.  Our Server was down for about an hour.

I just lit a candle, smiled to myself, and said one of my favorite sayings during this time,

-- "Typical Mercury Retrograde!"

It really likes to shake things up - especially with Electronic Gadgets!

Unfortunately, with so many planets in AIR signs - (MARS in Gemini, and the others I mentioned in Aquarius) - this was also a terrible week of Tornados, especially all around the Central states, such as Tennessee, which is where I live.

Our Prayers and hugs go out to all those who suffered from the storms.

Aquarius is the sign which the Sun goes through from the end of January through late February) so this is the COLDEST time of the year in the northern hemisphere...

And All these planets in Aquarius may make us more emotionally detached -- maybe even feel frozen emotionally, but this may be a good thing - for, when we are not drowning in emotions, it's a good time to crystalize our thoughts!

During this time, I strongly recommend that you take hot baths, followed by curling up with a good book, and a cup of hot coffee,  tea, or hot chocolate!

One last thought:

I have always thought it ironic that, during the coldest time of the year, we celebrate the WARMEST of human emotions - LOVE!   It's probably because this is the time we need it the most!

So, here's to you warm hearted love birds!   Happy Valentine's Day!

Here is a beautiful red rose for you, AND a picture of another trickster of ancient mythology - CUPID!

Keep smiling, and May your hearts be warm!

Keep the Home Fires Burning!

Eat healthy chocolate!

Full Moon In Leo - Grrrr or Purrr - But Drama City!

Well, those of you who have been through the Full Moons with me on this blog --
you have probably never quite experienced a FULL Moon like this, I am sure!

Ta Da - May I present - The FULL MOON IN LEO!  It only happens once a year!

Leo is the Sign related to Drama, Theatre, Children, Creativity, Romance and Risk Taking.
Each sign has it's variety of things it relates to, and Leo likes everything on a Grand Scale.

It is a Fire Sign, and like it's Symbol, (the Lion), Leo likes being King of the Jungle,
King of the Castle, or King of the Playground!

(Ok, Ok - yes, it's a tiger, but it's still a big cat!)

And since Leos like to toot their own horn, (did you guess I might be one myself?)

- please check out my recent 2008 Forecast on Web Radio Station - HealthyLife.net
- just hit Archives button, and then choose the show "A Balanced Life with Anita Owens"
- and please check out my Astrology Broadcast from Wednesday, January 9, 2008.

And, since I also wrote a very looooooooong blog a week ago
on my 2008 forecast - I am going to keep this one short and sweet, like this Leo Hug.

For more info on Full Moons, please feel free to check previous blogs on Full Moons past -
- they happen once and sometimes 2x a month!

You can't miss a Full Moon - even if the sky is cloudy, they create a lot of Emotional Basket Cases!
Just ask the Police and Hospital Workers, who notice an increase in these during this time.

Full Moon in Leo is Opposite the Sun, which just went into Aquarius.

Happy Birthday to all you Aquarius!

Aquarius is an Air Sign, (yes it is air, not water - Aquarius is pouring Knowledge into the Ethers),

Leo's Statement is "I Will" --
Aquarius' Statement is "I Know" --
so there will be an interesting push and pull for the next 2 weeks
between OUR WILL versus GOD's WILL.

We will also be torn between wanting to KNOW everything, and trusting God in the "not knowing."

So be sure to take lots of rest as the moon deflates like a balloon,
and I hope you see a beautiful FULL MOON against the Crystal Skies and Ice Cold Air
of this next month's time in Aquarius.

Stay Warm and More Will Be Revealed!

Love,

Christina

Will the Real New Year Please Stand Up?

OK this is a long one - so I hope you can find some TIME to read this one!  Or read it a little bit at a TIME...

A few decades ago, there was a wonderful game show called “To Tell The Truth.”  After a very confusing experience of trying to guess who the real guest star was, based on what they told the panel and the audience, the Host would finally ask “Will the Real (fill in the blank) please stand up?”  It was so much fun to see who was really who they said they were.

This year will be alot about finding out who you really are and facing reality - big TIME!

You might notice in this blog, I am going to be talking alot about TIME...

And for those of you who have had a hard time getting around to your New Year’s Resolutions, I have good news!  The New Moon (which many cultures consider the best time for new beginnings) actually took place
YESTERDAY,  January 8, 2008 at 6:37 AM Eastern Standard Time.

So, if you have kept up with this blog, you know that I like New Moons to start something new.   It is like a double dose of Sun and Moon energy.  Therefore, I would like to consider The New Moon the Real New Year.

But WAIT - there's More!

This month’s New Moon is in the sign of Capricorn, (because New Moons are when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign).  So, Happy Birthday to all Capricorns!  (That is your symbol above).  And, if you notice my little AMAZON button (look to the left on the side bar next to this Blog), I have made it very easy for everyone to purchase their very own 2008 Daily Planetary Guide.

Now - You, Too! - can start preparing for the New Moons, Full Moons, Void Moons and Mercury Retrogrades!  (I actually cross the Mercury Retrograde weeks off with a pen, so I don’t sign any contracts or start important projects during that time!)   This is really a wonderful diary / calendar / crash course on Astrology.  It explains the planets, the signs, the houses, and gives a weekly astro forecast (if you don’t read mine of course!)  This is how I keep in touch with GOD’S TIME!   By the way, have you ever seen God's Clock?  See below...

Isn’t it interesting that the calendar we use these days is purely man made?  The current calendar was actually first introduced by Julius Caesar in 46 BC and then changed by Pope Gregory XIII in the year 1582.

Anyhoo - Since TIME in the form of Modern Day Calendars are a creation of Man, and therefore not Real, nor does this man-made TIME give an accurate picture of TIME - you know Sunrise? Sunset?  Seasons changing? Moon cyles, etc.  It is simply a tool we use to relate to each other in this world, - we are living in Relative Time.

Then, to make things more confusing, in 1918, the U.S. established daylight savings time, to run for seven months, in order to conserve electricity during World War I.  And this was followed by Franklin Delano Roosevelt (an Aquarius, the sign related to electricity) who changed it again during World War II to save fuel!

So, as the 1970’s band,
Chicago, sang, “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?”  Well, it is always RIGHT NOW TIME and GOD'S TIME.  Please don't misunderstand me -- I am not suggesting you throw away your clocks.  Just start using God's Time as well!

That's why I carry my Daily Planetary Guide every day.  And Keep Smiling like the Sun!

Also, just in case you can't make your New Year's Resolution on the Gregorian Calendar Date of January 1, 2008, or the New Moon on January 8, 2008 - I have good news!  I am going to give you some other New Years from other cultures, and other Celebrations to give you multiple chances to start your life over!   Hence the Title of this Blog - "Will the Real New Year Please Stand Up?"

So, Here is my Happy New Year to All the Cultures!   You may want to mark your new Daily Planetary Guide for 2008!

Happy Islamic New Year! - this week - Thursday, January 10, 2008.

Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Year of the Brown Earth Rat - New Moon in Aquarius February 7, 2008.
This will also a Solar Eclipse - Wow - and Right after Super Tuesday Elections!

Happy Mahashivaratri! - The Night of Shiva - New Moon in Pisces March 6-7, 2008.

Happy Hindu New Year! - April 14, 2008.

Happy Jewish New Year! Rosh Hashanah - New Moon in Libra - Happy Year 5769! September 29-30, 2008.

Happy Indian Festival of Lights! Celebrates Laxmi, the Goddess of Wealth and Abundance. This is a great time for wearing new clothes! - New Moon in Scorpio - October 28, 2008.

Happy Jewish Festival of Lights! Hanukkah - Corresponds to Winter Solstice - December 22nd, 2008.

And of course, Merry Christmas, December 25, 2008. This is the best time to celebrate New Births.

NOW, did you happen to notice a lot of other cultures seem to celebrate around the New Moon, or follow the Sun going into a Solstice - HMMMM?

I WONDER if that MEANS something!- HMMMMM.....

And if you even miss your New Year's Resolution THIS year, and perhaps you may sleep all the way through until 2012, no worries!  The 26,000 year old Mayan Calendar ends in December 2012, and you can make a really big New Years Resolution when you start the entire world's evolutionary journey over again in the Mayan New Year January 2013!

HA!

Actually, I don't believe our beautiful Earth World will end - PHYSICALLY - but as Human BE-ings, we will be shifting our consciousness big TIME in the next few years.  And I don't recommend waiting until 2012.

You can start today -- YOU CAN ALWAYS BE IN THIS DAY -- and take at least 12 minutes -- one for every sign of the Zodiac -- and sit in the silence, focusing on your breath, breathing in an breathing out.  Every day, ask, "God, How May I BE of Service Today?"  Then listen to that still small voice inside. That is a great resolution in ANY TIME.

OK, NOW for that 2008 New Year's Forecast!

There are a couple of Biggies in this year's Astrological Forecast to talk about this year, and I will talk about this in future blogs as well  ...

OK -- DRUM ROLL -- FIRST BIGGIE -- I PRESENT THE PLANET SATURN - TADA!

Saturn's Glyph (seen below) truly represents how it FEELS in our Human Experience.

Saturn represents The Cross of Earth Limiting and Bearing Down on our Soul and Spirit.

Saturn will be transitting the sign of Virgo from 9/2/07 until 7/21/2010.

Saturn is also Retrograde (appears to be backwards) in Virgo 12/19/07 through 5/2/08.

Virgo is the Sign related to Health and Service.  In the body, Virgo is associated with the Colon, and as most people know, if you don't have a healthy colon, you are NOT healthy - PERIOD.  So, start eating more veggies, less fast food, and maybe get a colonic!  No, I'm serious (Saturn does not mess around!)

Saturn and Mercury (ruler of Virgo) relates to the Ears and the organs of Hearing
(Listening to the needs of others will go far with serving humanity.)

Saturn represents the physical limits of our reality, our physical plane existence, which is governed by TIME.  It is the furthest planet out in our Solar System that we can still see with the naked eye.  So spiritually, it represents limitations, restriction, discipline, boundaries.  (I think God put rings around it to make it appear bigger, just so we could not avoid seeing it!)  In the same way, we cannot avoid facing reality, life on life's terms, the school of hard knocks.  This Earth Plane is truly the School for the Soul.

Saturn, the Planet that rules the sign of Capricorn, was called FATHER TIME, (and was also spelled
Chronos, Kronos, and Cronus, which is where we get the word CHRON-ological and Syn-CHRON-icity from!)

In the body, Saturn is related to the physical limits and structure of the body -- the Skin (our personal boundaries), the Teeth, the Bones, and the Knees -- so, what brings you to your knees?

Saturn is also related to Governments, Corporations, Structures and Buildings.
And Capricorn's Statement is "I BUILD,"

So, what are you building with your life?

Are you building a Grass Hut?

or a Doll House?

Are you building a log cabin?

Or an Eskimo Igloo?

A Chinese Pagoda?

How about a Greek Temple?

Do you have a Home Sweet Home?

Or will you be moving into a New Home Sweet Home?

Saturn is also related to 7 year cycles, which doctors say is when the human being goes through the greatest changes -- supposedly every 7 years, we rebuild entire organs, and the most significant times of our lives come in 7 year cycles -- Age 7, 14, 21, 28, (this is called Our First Saturn Return -- that is, when the planet Saturn in the sky returns back by orbiting transit to the sign it was in when you were born -- This is a time that most people face Adulthood and Responsibility.)  Then we go on to 35, 42, midlife 49, 56 - (Second Saturn Return - a time to earn Wisdom and Authority), 63, (retirement?) 70, 77, 84, (Third Saturn Return - a time we feel the limits of the body and face mortality, etc.)

Isn't it interesting that the Bible mentions 7 so often? And Jesus said, "Forgive your brother - not 7 times - but 70 TIMES 7!"  That was the number of infinity to those in ancient times.

The SECOND BIGGIE:   The second biggie of the year will be Pluto (yes, even though it may now be called a Dwarf planet, Pluto is still a big player on the Astrological Stage!)  Pluto is a force to be reckoned with in any sign.  But going into the Sign of Capricorn on January 25, 2008 will make more Physical changes to our earth, (Earthquakes, Volcanoes) as well as big changes in power - in our governments, changes our psychological structures, in everything we hold near and dear.

The Symbol for Pluto represents Spirit Leaving The Earth - It relates to Death of the Old and Transformation.

Doesn't this Capricorn Glyph look humbled?

Well, since Capricorn (which Saturn rules) has to do with TIME,  I want to give you some Planetary perspectives:

The Earth takes ONE YEAR to go around the Sun, going through all 12 signs in the Zodiac.
The Moon goes through all 12 signs in the Zodiac in ONE MONTH.
Saturn takes 28 YEARS to go all 12 signs in the Zodiac and around the Sun
Pluto takes 248 YEARS to go through all 12 signs in the Zodiac and around the Sun.

So, all the Visible planets - Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn - yes, there are SEVEN of them - represent our personal experience of reality.  Then, the Invisible planets - Uranus, Neptune and Pluto - represent the COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS.  And, since these planets stay in a sign for so long, millions of people are born with these planets in the same signs.  So these planets affect entire generations of people.  They also stir up the hidden sides of life.  If you watch the transits of Pluto throughout history, you can see that these correspond to the biggest shifts in Human Consciousness, as well as World Events and Dis-ease.  When Pluto talks, the World listens, whether they know it or not!

Pluto was discovered by a Kansas farm boy working at the Lowell observatory in 1930 - which is the same decade the atom was split - so it made quite a big bang in the Astrological World.  Pluto was named by an 11 year old British girl who loved Ancient Mythology, and she told her Astronomer Grandfather that she thought Planet X should be named  after the ancient God of Death and the Underworld (Hades).  Well, the name stuck!  I will do more talks on the effects of Pluto in later blogs.

Right now, after being in the Sign of Sagittarius (the Sign of Religious Beliefs, Foreigners and Higher Learning) since 1994, Pluto is finally leaving Sagittarius and going into Capricorn on January 25, 2008 - and at first, it will dance back and forth and go back into Sagittarius for a short while, but then it will STAY in Capricorn until 2023 - 24.  Yes - WOW.  Pluto takes a LONG time to go through a sign.  It obviously wants us to pay attention to what it can do!

During Pluto's Time in Sagittarius, we had books come out like the Da Vinci Code and Celestine Prophecy, shows like the X-files, movies like "Book of Secrets" and "National Treasure"  --

Check out the Vatican NOW! ~
The Catholic Church went through some big changes during the Pluto in Sagittarius transit.

Anyhoo, this next Pluto transit, through Capricorn, will be a very interesting transit, because Pluto will actually oppose its own Natal Pluto in Cancer -  Pluto was "Born" or discovered on Feb 18, 1930.  During that time Pluto was in the sign of Cancer, which gave us expressions such as "American as Mom and Apple Pie" and World War II, which was all about the protecting the Fatherland and the Motherland.  Theories about atomic particles were discussed in 1930, which lead to the splitting of the atom in 1938.

So Pluto is associated with huge transformations. This period of time with Pluto in Capricorn will also bring about a "Pluto Return" for the United States.   Yes, the United States has a Birth Chart -- July 4, 1776!

And Pluto was in the Sign of Capricorn when our country was born - shaking up many structures of that time - religion, government, and personal self-determination.

Ironically, when our country was "born", the Sun was in the opposite sign of Cancer.  Check out the blog before this on meaning of opposition between Sun in Capricorn and the Full moon in Cancer!  This Pluto in Capricorn time will manifest itself as hundreds of times greater than that!  The United States is a Cancer Sign Nation, with a current President (George W. Bush), who is ALSO a Cancer Sign, and somehow, as a country, we have always had this need to Mother the entire World.  We need to shift our priorities, and start focusing on what we can do for the EARTH as our Mother.  This may be the first time when we really see the entire world as our Home, and start loving and respecting one another.

And these planets -- Sun, Moon, Jupiter, and next Pluto -- in the sign of Capricorn are going to be fortelling a time of changing our role in the world.  There will be great changes in our view of ourselves, our borders, our boundaries, and our government!  Isn't it ironic that this is an Election Year?  Pluto takes approximately 248 years to go around the Sun, sometimes spending 12 to 30 years in one sign!

Isn't it interesting that our founding fathers (who were Free Masons) also knew about astrology - the influence of the Stars is even seen on our nation's flag!

So, in SUMMARY, 2008 will be alot about Improving Your Health, Learning Patience, Finding What You are Commited To, Serving Others, Following God's Time, and Building Your Own New Structures of Reality.

I hope you do find and pray to a God of your own understanding,
whether it be in a Church, Temple, Mosque, or 12 Step Program.

God Bless You All!

Christmas Full Moon In Cancer Moving Us into 2008!

Last week I spoke of the Winter Solstice, which took place this year on Saturday, December 22nd.  The Solstice (Sun Standing Still) is a time which signifies the Sun going into the sign of Capricorn.  At my house, we celebrated very much like the ancients did - we drank hot apple cider, walked the labyrinth, and built a small bonfire in my back yard.   (See Labyrinth photos on previous blog!)

Soon after that, at 7 pm on December 23rd, just before Christmas Eve, a Full Moon took place.  And, since the Full Moon is always in the OPPOSITE sign of the Sun, this Full Moon was in the sign of Cancer.

Now, this opposition of Sun in Capricorn and Moon in Cancer is the classic one that takes place each year at this time.  It is the push and pull between the Father Principle (Capricorn) and the Mother Principle (Cancer).  It is the pull between Business (Capricorn) and Home (Cancer) - were you torn between the Shopping Malls and Baking Cookies? - between our Future Destiny (Capricorn rules 10th House - the Zenith, or Midheaven of the Natal Chart) - and our Past Upbringing (Cancer rules the 4th House - the Nadir of the Natal Chart.)

So, all these opposing ideas seemed to be pulling us and stretching us like a rubber band during this past week - "Buy this, Do This, Be This, and Be Sure to Revisit your PAST - "Come HOME for the Holidays!".  Well, Home is where the fight takes place between the archetype of Capricorn (usually the Father), saying, "What are you making of your life?" versus the archetype of Cancer (usually the Mother), saying, - "Have another helping, dear....!"

Isn't this ironic?  In the body, Capricorn is associated with the physical structure - knees, bones and skin - and Cancer is associated with the breasts and stomache - So, while seeking some form of nurturing, we overeat, and end up on our knees, saying "Oh God, I'll never do that again!"

And, to add to the fray, this year, Mars (the planet of Ego and Physical / Sexual Drive) has been and is still Retrograde (Backwards) in Cancer, so if you happened to notice a pinkish planet sparkling next to that Full Moon in Cancer, that little bugger caused everyone to be more edgy and testy during this Christmas Week.  It will be going backwards further into Gemini for the next few weeks, so catch yourself before saying something in anger -- slow down and breathe!  (Gemini is associated with lungs and speech).  And watch out for that Road Rage!  (Gemini is associated with cars.)

What a strange time this has been - I heard a report that people spend billions in credit card debt during this time (Saturn rules Capricorn, and Saturn is the planet that deals with feelings of lack and debt).  Perhaps we could change this insatiable need to have more STUFF, and instead, try letting go of some of our possessions - I myself had a "Take What You Like and Leave the Rest Party" -- it was a great experience, and I feel so much lighter because of it.

BTW, Please say some prayers for Pakistan right now - that part of the world is related to Gemini / Sagittarius Axis, and this assasination of their new Woman Leader, Bhutto, was almost too much to endure.

Mars going Retrograde in Gemini will be opposing Pluto in it's last gasp in Sagittarius right on January 1st, so this New Year may start with a BANG!

I sometimes wish I were a Bear and I could just go live in a cave!

Some final thoughts before the New Year:  Along with the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury, which are all currently in the sign of Capricorn, Pluto will be joining them, by going into Capricorn very soon, (January 25, 2008) - this after being in Sagittarius since 1994!  (Did you happen to notice the huge shifts in religious beliefs, and more conflicts with foreign governments over the course of these past 13 years?)  (Sagittarius is associated with Religion and Foreigners.)

So, after Pluto dances back and forth between Capricorn and Sagittarius next year, it will go forward and stay in Capricorn for a LOOOOOONGGGG time, (until 2023).  And even if you don't call it a planet anymore, Pluto will do some damage to that Father image (Capricorn) and oppose that Mother image (Cancer).  Many people will be forced to examine their own sense of personal power, what constitutes work and business, and what is really the meaning of home, and we will definitely be asking "Who really is in charge?"  (What a year for an election!)  I think it best for all of us to find the ultimate authority, God, inside our hearts!

For those of you looking for a wonderful experience on New Year's Eve, Unity Church for Positive Living is offering a "Burning Bowl" Ceremony at 7 pm December 31st, Monday Night.   You can actually write down what you don't want to take with you into the New Year and BURN IT!  Their NEW Address is:

Unity Church for Positive Living

Old Hickory, TN 37138

Blessings and Happy New Year!

Happy Winter Solstice - The Sun Is Returning!

(Photo Credit - Alaska Sunset by Kevin Doyle)

In the ancient times, people knew nothing about Holiday Seasons or Shopping Malls.  They only followed the beauty of the day and night, passing silently one into the other, and they watched the moon and planets transitting the nighttime sky.

At some point, they noticed that the daylight became shorter, and the night lasted longer.  They called the darkest, longest night of the year the Winter Solstice, which means "Sun Stands Still".  And then, from that day forward, the Sun appeared to be returning to the earth, because the days grew longer.

In the same way the Sun's light was returning to the earth, the early Christians chose this time of year to celebrate the Light of God's Son coming to earth, in the birth of the Christ Child.

So, Winter Solstice is a wonderful time to celebrate life and light and spirit.  It is also a great way to prepare for Christmas.  Musician Paul Winter puts on a wonderful world concert each year in the Cathedral of St. John The Divine in New York City.  It is broadcast live on www.NPR.org.

Some very cool websites on the Solstice are http://www.candlegrove.com/solstice.html --  which leads you to Newgrange in Ireland, http://www.knowth.com/newgrange.htm an ancient site where the passage and chamber of Newgrange are illuminated by the winter solstice sunrise. A shaft of sunlight shines through the roof box over the entrance and penetrates the passage to light up the chamber. The dramatic event lasts for 17 minutes at dawn from the 19th to the 23rd of December.

This is also a great time to walk a labyrinth - A Labyrinth is a meditation path which connects one to their own experience of the Divine.  Last week, I experienced a wondrous expansion inside - what with that Jupiter / Pluto Conjunction lining up with the Center of our Milky Way Galaxy - Well, I don't know about you, but I have felt greater insights into the deeper mysteries of life these days.  And a lot of warm energy pouring through the top of my head!

Then one day, I was looking out my window at my labyrinth, and it actually looked like a Galaxy spinning!  I thought, "Whoa -- now THAT's really cool!"  It was if the center had become some kind of spiritual portal into another dimension!

Check out the picture below.

So, I am very excited to invite everyone to join me for my Annual Winter Solstice Labyrinth Walk.  Solstice is usually December 21st - the first day of Sun in Capricorn!  But I am celebrating on Saturday, December 22nd, 2007
from 2 pm til 4 pm.  I live at 311 Tamworth Drive, Nashville, TN  37214, near the Airport.  Just go to Google Maps to get directions, or call me at 615-739-7236.  Sorry for the lopsided photo below!  Come Join us!

When we get quiet enough to appreciate all of God's beauty in Nature, we can actually slow down the passage of Time, and Life becomes so blissful.

Please keep Happy, Healthy and Warm!

Jupiter and Pluto - Together at Last!

Well - the big moment has arrived - at 2 pm CST (Nashville Time) on December 11, 2007, Pluto and Jupiter will be at the EXACT same late degrees (28 degrees) of Sagittarius.  Pluto is symbolized by the Circle of Spirit leaving or emerging from the Cross of Matter, transmuting and transforming us from physical reality to spiritual reality.  Where Pluto falls in our natal chart is where we become like the Phoenix rising from the ashes.

Jupiter is the Cosmic Santa Claus, and is symbolized by the Circle of Spirit expanding from the Cross of Matter -- it has to do with expansion of our horizons, and higher learning.   Where Jupiter falls in our natal chart is where we expand and grow in our lives.  Jupiter also is associated with the liver, which holds the collective information we have gathered from many lifetimes.  Perhaps that is why we say, "Trust your Gut, not your head."  (Head is connected to unreliable Quicksilver Mercury, remember?)

Pluto represents our Shadow side, and in ancient Mythology, was the God of Death and Transformation.  So, this could be a very intense confrontation between Jupiter, the Benevolent God of the Gods, and Pluto, the God of Death - (now this what I call a Cosmic Showdown!)   I see it as our deepest fears coming face to face with our greatest joy.  We now have an opportunity to choose the Light instead of the Dark.  We can now recognize that God is truly in everyone.  There is no more "us" and "them" out there - no more separation or duality.  Duality and Separateness, which leads to isolation, is the source of fear.

Some astrologers have thought this will manifest as a big shake up, such as a major earthquake in California or a volcanic eruption.  Or there may be some huge explosion.  Sagittarius is a fire sign, after all.  But Sagittarius is also the sign of Religion, and perhaps there could be a major shake up in people's consciousness about what is the value of organized religion, especially with the Big Three -- Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

This does not mean that these religions will just shut down on December 11th and disappear -- but perhaps people's need of them may change dramatically, and instead of everyone using an intermediary, such as a priest, rabbi or imam, people will seek and find their own connection with God in their own hearts.  In quiet and meditation, they will feel the light of God shining within them.

Sagittarius also has to do with the Higher Mind, and this planetary event may also manifest as a huge psychic download of large amounts of information from the astral plane, thus awakening mankind to their true Divine Nature, their "Cosmic" or "Christ Consciousness."  As humanity actually wakes up and transcends this earthly plane of existence, this experience could be what is considered "The Rapture".  We are no longer bound by earthly limitations, but we will probably choose to remain in our physical bodies in order to heal the Earth.  Remember the song "Woodstock"  by Joni Mitchell?

"We are Star Dust,
We are Golden,
And We've Got to Get Ourselves
Back to the Garden."

This particular conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto in the late degrees of Sagittarius has not been repeated for thousands of years, and it is also lining up with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy.  This is the Heart of our Galaxy.  Perhaps the Universe is lining us up with the Cosmic Heart, so that we can experience our own connection with God.  It is a great time to breathe deeply into the Heart of God.

It is also significant that, in 2012, the Mayans say there will be the end of the world as we know it.  Again, it may not necessarily be a physical end of the world - it may be more like an awakening of our consciousness, and our third eye will be opened.  Every one will truly "See" for the first time.  The statement of Sagittarius is "I Seek" - perhaps it is also "I See."

In a sense of wonderful divine timing, I recently discovered Mayan Chocolate.   The Mayans were the original discoverers of healthy benefits of chocolatl, "the food for the gods" -- it may be that they are sending us their wisdom of healthy chocolate, in order to help us move more peacefully through these challenging times.

The Wild Ride of Sagittarius

I took this picture in Nashville, TN.   "Stop Freaking Out!" seems to be a wonderful statement from the Universe.  And it's on Murphy Road!  Murphy's Law says that "anything that can go wrong will go wrong" -- but why don't we live with the expectation that anything that can go right will go right?  Keeping a positive attitude can have the power to actually shift the events in your life.

Continuing with last week's discussion of the Sun (Inner Self) going into Sagittarius, we now have Mercury (the mind and communication) going into Sagittarius, making it FOUR planets (Jupiter's been there for a year, Pluto has been there since 1994!)  And when the upcoming New Moon in Sagittarius takes place on Sunday, December 9th at Noon, that will make 5 planets in the sign of the Half Man, Half Horse - YIKES!

Are you feeling Restless, irritable and discontent? - that is a common theme these days.  Feels like you're jumping out of your skin?  People are feeling expansive and spiritual because, after all, it's the Christmas Season, and at the same time, people are feeling overwhelmed and stressed out, because it's the Christmas Season!  Every year I try to become less involved in the commerciality of Christmas, staying away from shopping malls and the gift buying frenzy that I see so many people go through.  I try to enjoy this time of year for the quiet of the winter.  I love having small parties and intimate gatherings with like-minded spiritual people.

I tried something new this week - in keeping with letting go of the old (Going from a Full Moon To a New Moon).  After a 13 year Jupiter cycle, (Jupiter RULES Sagittarius), I am finally releasing my home in Nashville and going on a "Cosmic Journey" around the United States.  I will be visiting friends and family, and I hope to teach and give Astrology Readings wherever I go, both in people's homes and at Spiritual Fairs.  This is all very related to the planet Jupiter and the sign of Sagittarius.  Both have to do with Higher Learning.

In keeping with this vision, I decided to have a unique form of Garage sale last Saturday, December 1st.  I called it "Take What You Like and Leave the Rest" - and I asked all my friends to come and find things they might like and give me a love offering.  It was a truly heart opening experience for all involved.  I even discovered that many people wanted one of my paintings!   I am going to show some of the paintings in this blog.  Two more are on my website www.christinamalone.com.  I hope you enjoy them as much as my friends do.

This one is called "Happy, Joyous, and Free" - a very Jupiter in Sagittarius Expression!

This one is called "Cosmic Rose"

This one is called "Cosmic Storm" - it has angels and all kinds of shapes in it.

This one is called "Firey Sunset"

Remember to get lots of rest this week before the new moon, and STOP FREAKING OUT!

And once again, I am sending this out on a Jupiter hour and Jupiter is the Cosmic Santa Claus, so
have a good belly LAUGH!

P.S. Remember,  the new astrological calendars are out now and if you order them by pressing the AMAZON button through this blog, I will hopefully get a little credit at Amazon.  Look for the picture of  The 2008 Daily Planetary Guide.  It will tell you when the Full Moon, New Moons, and Mercury Retrogrades are!

I have made it convenient for you to get it at Amazon - press the button on the top left of my blog - near the banner.  THANK YOU!
